Actor Vivek has found a place in history as a comedian who has been honoured with a Padmashree. On receiving the honour on April 14, the actor returned to Chennai last morning, amidst a rousing reception from fans and folks in tinsel town.

The roads leading to the actor’s office in Virugambakkam were completely occupied by fans and well wishers, one would hardly associate with a comedian. And when his white car made an entry, it was celebration time, as the crowd surrounded the actor, and welcomed him dramatically by strewing flowers, garlanding him and giving him a flower crown.

The huge rose garlands and jasmine crowns rested on Vivek as he was found personally accepting the wishes of all those who had come to see him. In fact, he had also taken photos with them, as they queued up around him.

Actor Vivek is best known for his ability to convey a social message in a humourous way, his style earning him the title, Chinna Kalaivaanar. Introduced by K Balachandar in 'Manadhil Urudhi Vendum', the actor has been along side the biggest actors in Tamil cinema today, from Rajinikanth, Vijay and Ajith to Dhanush and Silambarasan.
